A trade can do what a certificate sometimes can’t

Who we are here for
Women, children and young people are at the heart of everything we do. They are also, very often, in the same family.
Women hold households and local economies together, usually with the least say and the least security. We work on what changes that: money skills, safety, and a seat where decisions get made.
Every child should be in school, healthy and safe. We look at the home behind the child, because a child’s year in class often depends on what is happening around the kitchen table.
Young people don’t need a lecture, they need a way in: a trade, a first income, a place to belong. We build those routes, starting with practical skills.
What we work on
A family doesn’t live in separate boxes called education and health and income. We group our work the way people actually live.
Our flagship project
The Construction School gives young people from vulnerable families practical, hands-on training in the building trades, so they leave able to earn, and able to teach the next person.
Building never stops in these districts. What is often missing is short, practical training that turns willing hands into trusted ones.
About the projectNGO Support · the startup side of our work
Since 2024 we have worked like a startup as well as a foundation, sharing what we have learned about running a Ugandan non-profit with other grassroots groups, so they can be found, trusted and funded.
A clear, fast website your community and funders can trust, built so your own team can keep it up to date.
Practical sessions on governance, record-keeping, reporting and telling your story to funders.
Simple ways to record what you do and what changes, turned into reports a funder can read in five minutes.
Where we work
Wakiso wraps around Kampala. Busia sits on the Kenyan border. Different places, and the same families under the same pressures.
